We highlighted a mod that let you kiss everyone in Skyrim a while back, but it was kinda embarrassing. Your character latched onto people like some kind of alien everything-sucker and made this cartoon smooching noise. This one, however, is a bit more like the real deal. Kinda?
The somewhat awkwardly titled " Kissing—Immersive Lovers Comfort" mod has been out for a bit more than a month, but it's definitely worth grabbing on Steam Workshop if you haven't already. It allows you to lock lips with in-game spouses or basically anyone with a quick console command. Instead of contorting characters into an awkward makeout pretzel, this mod puts them in a kind of ragdoll state, relying on physics—not animations—to bring people together. Awwwww... yeah?

Sometimes this results in characters holding each other in a vaguely realistic fashion, or even getting down and dirty on the floor—but in a PG-13 way. Other times, it is just hilarious, a slow-mo ragdoll collision of cringing faces and clattering limbs. On rare occasions, characters just kinda... float, so you have that to look forward to as well.
Look, making video game characters who were never intended to kiss do the tongue tango isn't easy. Not all games can have kissing that's as well-animated (or as great for character development, despite the rest of the game being crap at it) as Assassin's Creed Unity. I applaud this mod for trying harder than other mods, and honestly unintentional comedy is my favorite kind of comedy. Also, kissing gets you a stat boost, just like in real life!
"After each kiss you will recieve a Kiss Effect: carrying capacity bonus + faster stamina regeneration. The bonus will be removed in the first fight after the kiss. There is no time limit, the bonus will be active as long as you avoid any battles (sneaking will do the job if you ask)."
So that's fun. Believe it or not, Skyrim has an entire scene for romance/sex mods, some of which are really interesting, others of which are kinda... weird. Regardless, it's neat that a game like Skyrim—open-world, sure, but largely restricted to traditional fantasy escapades—can take on such an unexpected second life with the help of mods.
