When You're a Rock Star, You Snort Cocaine off Space Invaders

Noel Gallagher, the former Oasis songwriter, probably doesn't remember most of the 1990s. He was out of his mind, doing drugs—maybe even doing them off a glass top Space Invaders arcade cabinet.

In the past, the elder Gallagher hasn't come off as much of a gamer, blaming the London Riots on video games and once saying Guitar Hero was "better than two goblins trying to fuck a donkey up the arse with a laser beam". He's right about that last bit.

In a recent webcast, Gallagher said that while he doesn't play the Xbox 360 ("it's fucking nonsense"), he does play Angry Birds, adding, "The music's quite annoying, but I do like it."

"I used to play arcade games when I was on the dole in Manchester," Gallagher continued. "Playing Defender."

Maybe it was his found arcade memories that made Gallagher purchase a Space Invaders glass top sit-down arcade table.

"I had a table of Space Invaders in the 90s, which we all used to have a little trick on every now and again—glass top, let's not take it any further."

Or maybe it was his love of the white line. Better than sprinkling it on your cornflakes, I guess!
