These are the things we thought Microsoft would mention today at the Xbox 360 press conference today, but didn't:

Assassin's Creed 2 — One of the biggest games of two years ago has a sequel coming later this year and doesn't get mentioned?

Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony — Microsoft has an exclusive new episode of GTA IV coming out this fall and doesn't plug it?

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Hideo Kojima did take the stage to announce Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the Xbox 360. What he didn't mention was Metal Gear Solid 4. And that seems to make it less likely than ever that MGS4 will ever be anything other than a PS3 exclusive.

Rare - Last year, Microsoft showcased two new games from Rare and showcased their creation of the Xbox Avatars. We know Rare wants to do more with Avatars and surely is making some games. This year, Microsoft didn't mention Rare.

Something "Game-Changing" Related To Zune — Yes, Microsoft announced today that their video store will be re-branded with the Zune name, but we thought Microsoft had promised: "At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) next week, attendees will see firsthand how Zune integrates into Xbox LIVE to create a game-changing entertainment experience."

Xbox 360 Community Games — Microsoft mentioned its successful 2008 Netflix initiative and plugged Facebook and Twitter integration, but skipped right over its big push last year to let gamers make and sell their own games through Xbox Live.
