The newest Sonic game will let you use your body to control a hover-boarding Sonic. It's Xbox Kinect only, but may ring a bell.
Clearly utilizing the design of the 2006 Sonic Riders game that appeared on GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation, Sonic Free Riders lets players play as their Avatar or as one of the Sonic family of characters, racing through courses as swiftly as possible. This one requires the full-body, no-controller game control offered by the Xbox 360 Kinect.
The press release describes the controls: "Choosing from one of your favorite Sonic characters, or your own Avatar, you can reach out and grab a variety of pickups along the course. By throwing, shaking, or swinging your arms to launch your items, you can gain the competitive edge over your rivals in high octane single or multiplayer races."
The game will support board and bike customization, includes on-track pick-ups and weapons, such as bowling balls, traps and rockets.
Announced characters include Sonic, Tails and Dr. Eggman.
No screenshots or video yet. The game is one of 15 Kinect launch titles.
