Part of the reason I still hold a candle for the multiplayer shooters of the late 90s is their insane mobility. The characters in games like Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament, and Serious Sam all move like the Flash on the Moon. Reflex is hoping to capture a bit of that.
Above is the "movement" trailer for Reflex — an indie game that aims to capture that sense of momentum so present in shooters of old (Mark Serrels covered the initial announcement for this over at Kotaku Australia). Just take a look at some of the things a really skilled player can pull off in this thing! I don't think I'd ever be able to do anything even remotely that cool in the game, but I swear I could watch those guys go all day.
