Blackbird Interactive, developers of the excellent Deserts of Kharak, have teamed up with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to create an interactive tour of a concept Mars base.
Not the most obvious thing to reading about, I grant you, but they’re a good fit, with Blackbird’s sleek designs helping create a colony that looks real, but also cool as hell.
It’s not a game, with Blackbird calling it more of an “interactive model”, and it was created as part of a talk on exploring the red planet that’ll be held at DICE later this week, meaning you can’t get your hands on it. Yet.
Blackbird tells Kotaku though that “Once DICE is completed we will be looking to the project’s future and possible methods for releasing it”, which would be neat. I know it’s not a game, but it’d still be cool to explore the base if this was a free download.
And because the art for the project looked so good (duh), Blackbird were kind enough to share some for this Fine Art feature, so below you can see some of the designs used in the creation of the base.
