Arriving in AT&T stores on September 18 for $49.99 with a two-year agreement, Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play 4G comes in an exclusive color pre-loaded with seven hot games. Unfortunately it also comes with AT&T service.
AT&T customers have been clamoring for the Xperia Play since it hit Verizon earlier this year, perhaps yearning for something fun to do while not receiving calls in the comfort of their own home office. They're time has come, and soon they'll be able to play PlayStation games with that handy slide-out control pad while their friends, family, and co-workers fruitlessly attempt to contact them about important topics.
Along with the exclusive blue color and 4G service, Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play 4G also comes packed with a selection of fine games, including:
• Dungeon Defenders Second Wave by Trendy Entertainment
• Asphalt™ 6 Adrenaline by Gameloft
• Star Battalion by Gameloft
• Madden NFL 11 by Electronic Arts
• The Sims 3 by Electronic Arts
• Tower Bloxx: My City by Digital Chocolate
• Crash Bandicoot by SCEA/Naughty Dog/Universal
In case you haven't figured it out, I'm an AT&T customer that's had more than a few problems with the service over the years. I also purchased a PSP GO at full price when they first launched, so this is probably not the phone for me. Still, the blue color is striking, and once you get sick of whipping out your iPhone the Xperia Play might be a nice place to vacation.
