An e-mail some of you may have received that appears to be a request for a password reset for World of Warcraft is a phishing scam. Consult this official Blizzard thread for information. [Update: Blizzard is sending legit warnings, too.]
While some sites, such as Linked In, have prompted password resets due to the hack of our parent company's servers, the one mentioned in the thread linked above isn't legit.
Update: Since publishing this post it was brought to our attention that Blizzard has sent readers an e-mail advising them to reset their passwords. Blizzard confirmed to Kotaku that this particular e-mail is real. So if you get the one reprinted below, you should take it seriously Thanks to the readers who brought this to our attention.
