follow gt long enough and you'll know they love the x360 most. the signs are all there. even in multiplatform games, they play the x360 versions first, well, most of them. perhaps to collect live points, shrugs. to be fair, hey, it came out way earlier so they've probably developed a soft spot for it but yeah, they're closet xbots.

Most useless video ever. Why would anyone care, either way? Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses.

They tried to make PS3 GTAIV look bad too. They showed the getalife building disappearing. That never happens in the actual game, and it's well documented that the PS3 has less pop in.

GameTrailers is still the best video game site on the planet because of Free HD Videos and GT Dollars but damn.... that was pretty boneheaded.

This could have been a mistake. Remember when people were using PGR4 to advertise GT5. The fact is these things happen and only fanboys fail to see how a mistake can be made, using words like "clearly". They took it down because they got caught red-handed and not because they saw they made a mistake is probably about as a paranoid of a conclusion as one can make. Oh internet, how foolish you've become.

@okenny :): That's pretty naive. I'm sure their videos go through multiple checks. Also, there's the fact that the more dynamic crashes where used for the 360 side of the comparison. Clearly some thought went into this. I'm suprised, though, they thought they could get away with it.

How surprising, along with all of their boxart for games being X360.

I saw it yesterday when the video was up, posted in the originating thread on GT (it's a sticky there now) and you can't even explain it away by saying "bad editing". The lighting was different (which is the only change) in the exact same way in those two "mistaken" comparisons, as they were in the rest of the trailer.

They purposefuly took all of the clips on the PS3, changed contrast, and called the clearer one "X360".

Hardly surprising considering they're owned by Viacom who are in bed with Microsoft.

Gotta love the corporate.

Also: I don't own a PS3.

Could be a simple mistake - but the fact that they don't even go through the effort to create comparable crashes for both versions is quite telling.

to be honest, if you need to prove the worth of your console by watching comparison videos, you have my pity.

I have always hated gametrailers' comparisons.

...oh, one more thing: Earlier today in the GoW2 thread, someone accused Kotaku of being on the take because they'd yet to pick up this story. This is the logic that governs the type that fawns over stories like this.

GT's comparison shots never had any cred in my book, especially when they complain about the PS3's dull colors, but refuse to turn on the video modes that up the contrast if you're using HDMI cable. They do so under the context of using "default" settings for the PS3, but then they grab their in game shots from the 360 by using an HDMI cable so that they look as crisp as the PS3's: What's default about that when most 360s don't even have that port?

@okenny :): I think you need to realize that there is more of an attempt at swaying people from one console to another than you might think. And by the way, the idea of a website being bias for one particular system is not new. But at what point do you go "yeah, it might HAVE been a mistake, but boy they sure do make that same mistake alot."

If it was just one thing, then I would be more inclined to go ..."what the hell was that all about?" and leave it be. But between this, the Box art, the PGR4 = GT5 comparision, and the face that they review cross plat games saying, "this stuff a) / b) / c) is better on the xbox" but then never say two words about how it performs on the ps3 equals more than a little bit off putting.

Am I still going to visit their site? Hell yea. They have some good stuff up there. Am I going to believe their side by sides? Not a fucking chance. While I use to take it with a grain of salt, I will now just shake my head in disbelief.

Well, there was that one instance where a Coca Cola poster had a picture of a girl giving oral sex. It made it past all of the people in the company before being caught by retailers around the country. Just saying, it's possible that it was an accident, I'll leave plausibility up to you guys.

yes ever ps3 game deserves a 10 and all 360 games deserve a 5 but companies are being payed to give the 360 a high score and give ps3 games average scores

It's a simple fact that the 360 looks and plays better than ps3 version of the same game. I don't know why, but it does.
