Looks like the good ship Microsoft Press Conference, which was due in port on Tuesday to shower us all with news and media of exciting new titles, has sprung a leak. Banjo Kazooie 3 screens? Leaked. What look like Viva Pinata 2 screens? Leaked. No news or info to accompany the screens, of course, but you can't blame Microsoft & Rare for thinking second time's a charm. Oh, and is that a second player's cursor I see in the above screen?

Looks great. I loved the first one. Well, the virual garden aspect. I just hope they're going to allow me to have a MUCH larger playground. I want to be able to build my own little pinata ecosystem, not limited to like ~10 at a time.
It looks like it's going to have co-op (hopefully online!), different enviroments, and, of course, new piñatas!
Looks awesome!
I wonder what's up with the headstone-looking things though...
not really my thing (i own the 1st one) but lookin goooood! rare's back in the game, i suppose!
More VP? Hells, yes, bitches! I loved the first one, despite the wrong gender and being about 15 years too old.
By the look of it, one of the major annoyances fixed is the fence issue - the first game would only let you place enough fence to cover maybe 3 of 4 sides of a small pen, making them pretty much useless
Oh man, Viva Pinata with a bigger garden (and item limit) and online co-op would be kickass.
Funny story: I actually bought Viva Pinata on the same day as Gears of War. The dude at the store gave me a pretty funny look.
That's a fancy-looking spade. I'm covetting it right now.
As sson as GTA IV's done with, it's back to the garden. I was pleasantly surprised at Viva Pinata - not that it was fun, but that it was HARD.
So many ponds to dig, so little time.
Oh, try "Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise" as a title. This would match up with some rumours on NeoGAF
omg please be a 2nd person cursor. my g/f and I played every single bit of the first one and we would love to be able to play together.
Viva Pinata was pretty fun, but I recall it was way too complicated for a kid. And it was menu-flooded. In my defense as then-23-year-old owner of the game, I only got it cause I drove all the way out to a CompUSA (a chain that was soon closing in the states) to use a gift card and their game selection sucked. It had it narrowed down to this or Chomehounds.
Looking forward to Tuesday and all the info proper.
Hmm... never got into VP, but as more news comes out about it I might get interested. By the way, are all these leaks by Rare intentional it seems?
@Xiedo:
That was the problem with it. The game itself was not intended for kids. But with the cartoon and the way it was marketed, many passed up on it due to its childish aim. It is actually a very deep ecosystem involved game.
I am pumped for it, here's hoping for a PC version as well.
Looks amazing. BK, now this? The 360 library is getting friendlier by the hour. Next up, the Newton!
Oh, warning: VP for PC *SUCKS*. Really, it absolutely fails to work. I bought it for my sister for Christmas, but she's been unable to play, since it drops down to <1 FPS after about 3 minutes.
It seems better behaved with one of the CPU cores disabled, but not "fixed"
is that online co-op or just local multiplayer?
if there's a way to share a garden online, that be awesome!
My problem with the first game was simply due to my lack of information regarding the game. I thought you'd have a HUGE garden where you could have every single species with their own little areas and what not.
I was quite disappointed. I think a nice way to fix this would be to have a zoo you can sell pinatas to. That way you can move around the Zoo and see all the pinatas acting the way they normally do without having to feed them or anything.
There already was a second one, it went by the name of "Viva Pinata: Party Animals". Whether you are trying to erase that shovelware from your memories is beyond me, but just because you don't want Call of Duty 3 doesn't mean it's not there. The post header should read "Viva Pinata 3".
NoOoOoOoOoOoOoooooooooo!
I was hoping it was Kameo 2 so bad.
The mystery sequel is VP2 :(
VP1 was fun but cmon... compared to a Kameo 2, I'd rather not.
Looks really nice and I'll probably pick it up, but noooooo.
@kylo4: False. Viva Pinata 1 was a animal/ farming sim.
Part Animals was a spin off, and although it used the same characters, it was a party game full of mini games.
Viva Pinata 2 is going to be the sequel, featuring animal/ farming sim gameplay.
It's like how COD4 can call itself COD4 when there's really been 8 of them
Call of Duty
Call of Duty: United Offensive
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory
Call of Duty 4: Modern
or how GTA 4 can call itself GTA 4, yet it's really the 9th one.
Party Animals was a completely different game. Your post is wrong.
@kylo4: Ugh I don't think my reply is going to post so I'll try again.
Basically, you're wrong. VP1, and VP2, are animal / farming sims.
Party Animals was a spin off game full of mini games aimed at the kids who watch the tv series, since VP1 was to complex for most kids and lacked the personalities of the pinatas from the TV show (they didn't talk like them and weren't exciting or funny).
It was a spinoff and wasn't officially Viva Pinata 2. Much like Killzone 2 is called Killzone 2 even though it's the third Killzone since there is Killzone: Liberation on PSP, the fact that COD4 is caled COD4 even though it's more like the 8th, and how GTA 4 is called GTA 4 even though it's the 9th installment in the GTA world.
@Akanubon:
I don't think I could handle a much bigger garden! There was already far too much Whirlm Sex Dancing going on in my little plot.
Viva Pinata is one of my favorite 360 games and one I come back to over and over for replay. A few of us at work would even compare pinata notes and chat about the complex ecosystem in the game and how deeply immersive it was, but have to do so clandestinely because the marketing of the game was so skewed to the 8 year olds who had no business playing it.
Viva Pinata 2 can't come fast enough, here's hoping MS markets it better.
Ya know, I'm a lot more excited about this than I should be considering the demographic that I'm part of.
Regardless though, the first one was a great game and those screenshots look awesome.
I like Dungeon Keeper. Whas fun to setup traps for dwarven and elfs (th0se damn legolaleses, and the midgets), whas fun to punish your own soldier, and torture the captures enemys.
Playing Viva Pinate, is more of that, with more killing, brother-sister sex relations, etc...

Kinda, my gamestyle. Evil Overlords needs minions!
i always thought Viva Pinata was one of the best looking games to come out this gen. I mean it's a kids game clearly. But when i look at it and then i look at LittleBigPlanet i see a lot of stuff in common. It's like LBP is VP except side scroller multiplayer
Oh, now I'm pining for Dungeon Kepper 3. Damn them for putting the trailer at the end of DK2!
I'm frankly looking more forward to this then Banjo 3. If they can give me more space for bigger gardens so i'm not forced to run 5-6 of them, more Pinata and the other proper adjustments, then i'm sold. @icepick314:That would be completely jawsome.
Yeah i think a lot of people would be up for this.
Cut down the menu scrolling times, make cut scenes skippable and make the garden a lot, lot bigger for us adults and give us infinite items, and different temperate zones.
I'd love to have desert/swamp/arctic pinata all meeting in the middle.
However - game needs more hints as to the purpose of things, and local & online coop would be sweet tastic.
Oh...my........
Today is a great day
*wipes tear*
Whoot I got thanked for giving a tip = )
I enjoyed the first game, but I got to a point where I became well confused on what to do next. Kinda made me sad when no new pinata's were coming into my garden.
Can't wait for my penguin pinata. I shall name you after the next commenter.
Oh wow...I never thought they'd make a second VP, because I thought sales were lackluster. I'm so glad they are, I had a blast with the first one.
Fact 1:
I bought the 360 with Halo 3. Then I bought Gears and GTA IV on the same week. But I looked forward to Viva Piñata for two years, something caught me on that cover, I knew I should play it.
Fact 2:
I´ve been playing more VP than the other games combined! It rules!
:O I can't wait for this! I didn't think they would be making a second one.
Viva Pinata Rocked. I'll look forward to seeing another
Viva Pinata owns. It's the only game I've got all the achievements on.
Okay, so my girlfriend did most of it, but still... looking forward to this one a whole lot.
@string_theory: Yeah VP graphics were a joy. So much colour and detail, I thought it was one of the best looking games for a while.
I was really hoping Rare's other 360 game they'd been working on had been Kameo 2 instead. Oh well, maybe if we're lucky that game will release before the xbox 1080
I'd rather see a new Perfect Dark. Oh well.
Oh YES! Seriously, I just cracked out the first one and just sighed thinking "And there's never going to be another one, is there?"
THERE IS A GOD!
@robinandtami: Me too. One that's better than Zero anyway.
VP was the reason I bought a 360 though, so I must selfishly admit this news makes me happier.
This just SERIOUSLY made my day. I am so excited I could pee. Oops. I think I just did.
Absolutely my favorite game announcement so far this year without a doubt. Might have to do a little pinata mating when I get home to celebrate.
@directhex: Runs just fine on my PC, so don't go throwing around blanket statements like that.
Come on MS/Rare, VP 2 for PC PLEASE!
Its a real shame the first game didn't sell well because it was a GOOD game.
I have the first game. it's a good game, but I just couldn't get into it. I imagine VP2 will do better since the saturday morning cartoon appears to be doing well.
viva pinata is OK.... my little sister loves it so that takes all the fun out of liking it >.> don't know why but its super slow on my computer too ><
The first game was good, but needed more varied landscapes and land features.
otherwise, was fun, in a canabilistic incest animal raising sim kind of way.
i just bought this yesterday at target for $10 (VP1) and i like it a lot actually.
i thought id be just another game for acievements but i actually thought it was well made by Rare
I now know where the Birthday skull for Halo 3 sound came from.
@mrantimatter:
Yeah, isn't it morbidly entertaining the way such a kid looking title can have those qualities included in a game?
"It's a game for kids!"
If the complexity of gameplay didn't make this an adult game, I feel those elements definitely do!
Well hooray! I really need to properly play this through, I got into it, then some other stuff came out, then I kind of ignored it...I'll make it the next thing I do after GTA.
If this is true, then I'm preordering it ASAP.
The first game is amazing, it looks like a kids game but once you play it you realise that's where it fails.
It's quite difficult.
It's not bad because of it, it just means kids will need an adult to play it with them (to complete the game) - that's my excuse anyway!
I can barely figure out what to do in the first one. I'm going to have to skip this one.
