Meet YouTube Gaming’s app. Do you use Twitch on your phone? This is better.
For a while now, Google has been getting ready to take on Twitch, which is currently top dog in the world of online video game...videos. While Twitch has a big audience and was recently bought by Amazon, Google is hoping that the slicker design and superior tech of its own offerings can win folks over.
Starting with this app. YouTube Gaming hasn’t actually gone live yet (it’s planned for a late 2015 launch), but a test version of its Android app has leaked out this week, so I installed it and gave it a workout. I’m very impressed with how clean, simple and functional the app is, to the point where I think this is way better than Google’s actual YouTube app.
