At the recent Spring Festival Gala in China, 15 year-old Wei Caiqi served as "Time Girl" and spun around. A bunch.

Days before the gala was broadcasted, it was announced in the Chinese press that Wei would spin for four hours and start spinning faster as the Chinese New Year approached. And, well, that's what it looks like she did.

Wei is related to famous dancer Yang Liping. In this clip, you can see both of them dancing together.

The Spring Festival Gala is the most watched entertainment show in the world, with over seven hundred million viewers tuning in.

As noted on China Smack, some on Sina Weibo, China's Twitter, said Wei's recent performance was "boring," "pointless," and even "cruel." Others were impressed and pointed out that this was her family's "unique skill" and said it was (or better yet, like) Sufi whirling.

By one Sina Weibo user's estimate, Wei spun around 15,000 times.

Prior to the event, Wei said the twirling performance was a type of "spiritual cultivation," adding, "I feel grateful for the skill of twirling and this opportunity to perform at the Spring Festival Gala."

Just watching her twirl is dizzying.
