In this week's installment of Xbox Live Indie Clips, we take a look at Prismatic Solid, a colorful and stylish shooter that earned Japan's Yoichi Hayashi $10,000 in Microsoft's 2010 Dream.Build.Play contest.

Prismatic Solid is a nifty little shooter that takes the player on a journey through six different colorful stages of bullet hell goodness. It's pretty standard shooter fare on the surface, but as with many shmups, the satellites make all the difference.

Your ships three satellites change formation as you switch between six different weapon types. More powerful weapons will leave your ship exposed to the countless obstacles flying across the screen at any given moment, while the satellites will surround you protectively when using the weaker weapons in your arsenal. So while there's still a lot of dodging and weaving involved, knowing when to use what weapon is key to making it out alive.

Microsoft ended up paying $10,000 for this little gem. You only have to pay 80 Microsoft points.
