Last week, something very cool happened: the Internet Archive devised a way for people to play classic DOS games inside an actual tweet. Hope you got your fun in on Friday, though, because Twitter have since pulled the plug.
The change took place over the weekend. Visit any of the tweets, like mine here, and you’ll no longer be able to play the game from inside the tweet. Instead, there’s now just a link, and you have to move your mouse all the way over to it, click it, then wait a second or two, and then be taken to another screen, and then you can play it.
Torturous, I know, but you’ll survive.
As GI speculate, the games were probably pulled because of Twitter’s terms and conditions, which state “Do not build end-to-end interactive experiences inside the video or audio player unrelated to Player Card content, such as the following: purchasing, gaming, polling, messaging, and data entry.”
