The Oculus Rift VR helmet can be used for all sorts of games—everything from first-person shooters to side-scrolling platformers. But perhaps the best use of the Rift is in flight simulators like Lunar Flight.
There are literally thousands of games on Valve's Steam service, and a growing number are small, independent titles. You've probably never even heard of many of them, but for the tiny teams (or sometimes individuals) behind them, their success or failure can be literally life-changing.
Because landing on Mars is the hottest thing this year, Lunar Flight - the terrifyingly realistic space landing simulator - is being updated to include a map of the Martian surface, meaning you can recreate the sensation of touching down on an alien world over and over and over again to your heart's content.
Indie developer Sean Edwards' Lunar Flight, which we first showed you last year, is now done. And it's looking very, very pretty.
