What's this? Former PlayStation spokesman Kevin Butler has no business lording over the LA Convention Center in this day and age. What should occupy the ad space of honor during next week's E3 2014? Smells like a 'Shop Contest to me.
I've not been to an E3 since my children were born back in 2011, but I've been to enough that I can close my eyes and picture the scene above so clearly. Well, clearly except for the gigantic ads, which have become so much background noise, and since no one is paying attention anyway, might as well change them.
Here's what I want you all to do. Take an image of E3 being held at the Los Angels Convention center. It could be this shot below, taken last year by Shutterstock contributor Barone Firenze.
Maybe it's a shot of the famous hall of banners, or the show floor itself. The point is, the signs are out of date and should change to reflect what the artist thinks or hopes will be the show's big surprises this year.
Or just toss some Watch Dogs in there, to make up for the fact that this week's contest is about something fun instead.
Let's get to work! As always, winners will be posted next Saturday, just in time for the oncoming E3 2014 storm.
Not sure how to upload images? Follow these simple steps and you'll soon be uploading pictures to the internet like a pro.
1. Create your 'Shop and save it to your desktop.
2. Go to the bottom of this post
3. This brings up a comment window. Click
4. This brings up Click "Choose file" if you're uploading your 'shop from your desktop
5. Alternatively, you can upload the 'Shop to a free image hosting service. I suggest imgur. Then paste the image's URL into the field that says "Image URL." Note: this must be the URL of the image itself, not the page where it is displayed. That means the URL ends in .jpg, .gif, .png, whatever.
6. Add editorial commentary and hit submit and your image will load. If it doesn't, upload the image to imgur and paste the image URL as a comment. I promise I will look at it.
7. Large-size images may not upload properly, though we have seen some big-ass animated .gifs upwards of 5 MB. If you're still having trouble uploading the image, try to keep its longest dimension (horizontal or vertical) under 1000 pixels, or the whole thing under 2 MB.
On your marks, get set — DO IT!
