With a 64-bit A7 processor delivering double the graphics processing power of the previous model, the iPhone 5s is the perfect place to debut the latest installment of the platform's most impressive looking title. Infinity Blade III will hit the app store on September 18. [Update — Now with video!]
Chair co-founder and CEO Donald Mustard took the stage at the Apple event in California today to show off Infinity Blade III. According to the Ars Technica live blog of the event, the game will feature two characters, one of which is a thief. It'll be a massive game, with each of its eight areas large than the entire first game.
According to the YouTube listing for the trailer, this is the "epic conclusion" to the series. Judging from the game's September 18 release. The game will be available for older iOS devices — it'll just look and play much better on the 5S.
We've reached out to Chair parent company Epic for more on the game. I guess this means I need an iPhone 5s, dammit.
Update: From the official press release, Infinity Blade III will be priced at $6.99 and playable on the iPhone 5s, 5c, 5, 4s and 4, the iPad 2-4 and Mini, and 4th and 5th generation iPod Touch.
Players will play as both the legendary hero Siris and stealthy female Isa, each with unique combat styles. For the first time, the characters will have a base of operations — The Hideout — where they'll access the world map and unlock new allies. Expect new enemies, hundreds of weapons and items, and the return of Chair's ClashMob challenges, in which players from around the world gang up on poor, unsuspecting challenges for epic loot.
