Metal Gear fan Airam Hernandez is leading an effort to recreate the entire original 1998 Metal Gear Solid for the PC. Only this time it’ll be using Unreal Engine 4.
With a little help from Dan Meadowcroft, who is handling music, they’ve just released the first trailer for the project, which is called Shadow Moses.
REALITY CHECK: most of these projects die a quiet and slow death, as the grunt work of getting an entire game ready and finished is often beyond the ability (or attention span) of these hobbyist teams.
Then again, as Black Mesa has shown, sometimes they actually do get made! Let’s hope Shadow Moses is one of those lucky few. Especially since the existing PC port of the game is coming up on being 16 years old.
