Entertainment Software Ratings Board description's are a welcome recent addition, clinically telling us about all the naughty, neat things that transpire in our Mature-rated video games. Take the ESRB's recent rating of Bayonetta, for example.
The Platinum Games developed title gets extra clarification for its "torture attacks," the enemy-finishing moves that relieve Angels of their heads via guillotine and rip characters apart by way of shrieking hair demons. It's the "suggestive themes" and "partial nudity," however, that will likely have parents incensed, should they have the internet wherewithal to look up Bayonetta's rating.
Be forewarned. There's jiggling, gyrating and outfit shredding, says the ESRB.
During the course of the game, some female characters perform suggestive taunts and poses, including opening their legs or gyrating their hips. Some of the more provocative outfits are shed during battle, resulting in brief depictions of buttocks and breasts. The camera occasionally pans close-up on breasts as they are jiggling.
Clearly, the game is not intended for the kids, as evidenced by the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game's M-rating and over-the-top titillating presentation.
But I think we're grown up enough to handle it.
