Boston-based hockey fans will be wicked psyched to learn that their own Boston Bruins will win this year's Stanley Cup, according to EA Sports' simulation of the 2009 NHL playoffs.
Electronic Arts has run the numbers in NHL 09, calling the Bruins to win the cup in six games, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks for their first Stanley Cup win in 37 years. Following the win, Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will be presented with the Stanley Cup by an unidentified, vacant automaton while staring blankly into space, as hammered college students overturn cars in Kenmore Square. Should be a wicked pissa.
For Boston's sake, we hope that NHL 09's prediction is more accurate than that of NHL 08's which was way off. It called for the San Jose Sharks to win the Cup, a team that didn't make it past the Western Conference semifinals.
