Nevada’s ongoing investigations into daily fantasy sites DraftKings and FanDuel aren’t just impacting sports fans; they’ve affected followers of games like League of Legends and DOTA 2 as well, with fantasy esports site Vulcun forced to cut off players in the state.

As part of a statement posted on the company’s site (via Gamasutra), there’s a lengthy ruling from the Nevada Gaming Control Board that basically says anyone trying to run pay-to-play daily fantasy sports in the state now needs a license.

Which is a legal trap; as Deadspin explain in relation to DraftKings, “Were they to do so, they’d essentially forfeit their legal position” as fantasy sites.

As such, the statement reads, “Vulcun users residing in Nevada can no longer participate in paid fantasy contests on our site”.

Note this only applies to residents of Nevada. For now.
