While Apple is duking it out in Chinese courts over the iPad name, Proview, the company that is claiming legal rights to the iPad moniker, is now filing a lawsuit in California.

The Shenzhen-based company is accusing Apple of using deception to get the trademark, Reuters reported.

In the lawsuit, Proview is alleging that Apple created a "special purpose" unit to purchase the iPad name and that it was created "with the intent to defraud and induce the plaintiffs to enter into the agreement". Proview claims that Apple did this to hide its true intensions.

Meanwhile, Apple scored a victory in Shanghai, preventing an iPad ban in that city. Proview Shenzhen, however, is pushing forward in Chinese courts to prevent the iPad, which is made in China, from being sold in...China.
