Everybody knows that armed forces around the world train using what are essentially advanced video games, but it's rare we actually get to see one in action up-close like this.
Seventy-five Australian Army soldiers are about to embark on a peacekeeping mission to the Solomon Islands. Before leaving they've been familiarising themselves with the terrain and other local conditions on this simulator.
Its visuals may not be terribly cutting-edge, but it's impressive that the actual city layout and surrounding countryside can be so accurately recreated.
