A man in Salt Lake was assaulted and robbed earlier this week while he was playing a "computer game online". Like, literally: his friends could hear over the mic that he was being beaten up, so they rushed to help.
The unnamed victim was playing games online (the report doesn't specify which platform) when a group of masked men burst into his house, beat him with a bat, took some "electronic items" then fled the scene in his car.
Sounds like the perfect crime, but when one of the victim's friends heard the commotion over the mic, he raced to the scene of the crime just in time to see the perpetrators making their escape. As they were leaving, one of them took off his mask and was instantly recognised as an acquaintance.
They haven't been caught yet, but with one of their identities now known to police, you'd have to assume it's only a matter of time before they show up.
