Can the world have too much virtual Edward James Olmos? Bigpoint shows off slightly-creepy character models for the browser-based online game of SyFy hit Battlestar Galactica.

You didn't think they'd make a Battlestar Galactica game without the stars, did you? Bigpoint today reveals that several popular members of the BSG cast have provided their likenesses to the upcoming online game.

On the human side, we'll be seeing Adama, of course, along with Apollo, Chief Tyrol, and Kara "Starbuck" Thrace. I guess they'll pad the rest of humanity with generic character models.

The Cylons, on the other hand, need no padding whatsoever. All you need is Dean Stockwell's Number One, Leoben Conoy's Number Two, Tricia Helfer's Number Six, and Grace Park as Number Eight, and you've got a party.

"These characters brought to life the story and captured the imaginations of a whole new generation of Battlestar Galactica fans and we felt strongly that they needed to appear in the game," explains Heiko Hubertz, CEO and founder of Bigpoint. "Our goal is to create a deep connection to the mythology of Syfy series and by working with the producers, writers and actors, Bigpoint hopes to meet the expectations of the fans and allow them to write their own adventures through gameplay."

Fans writing their own adventures through gameplay? I sure hope the clothes on the Kara Thrace character model don't come off.
