Just because the West isn't getting in-game hostess bars that doesn't mean it won't be getting other cool things. You know, like yakuza movies.
On March 5, SEGA will be co-sponsored a sneak peek at Yakuza 3 at San Francisco's VIZ Cinema. Besides checking out the game, there will also be a reception and a discussion hosted by Otaku USA Editor-in-Chief Patrick Macias from 7:00pm that will follow the history of yakuza in Japanese cinema. Expect Macias' insights on yakuza flicks like Battles Without Honor and Humanity, Brutal Tales of Chivalry and Dead or Alive.
"I will be discussing the violent and explosive history of Japanese gangster flicks, showing a ton of crazy clips (including an actual pinkie cutting ceremony!!!) in a THX certified theater," blogs Macias.
Tickets are $10. But hey, the actual pinkie cutting ceremony alone sounds like it's worth the price of admission.
