Just to show off how diverse LittleBigPlanet is, Sony created some Killzone puppets to show off in-game at their recent Gamer's Day in London. Pretty friggin amazing.

Battles on the soundtrack!
=O OMG, those Helghast better be able to be created in-game.
Awesome. And they look so lovely in LBP. Almost cute.
Still have no idea what this game is.
What's the point of this game? I don't get it...
totally joking, I can't WAIT for this title. I doubt I'll be able to peel my fiancee away from it once it's out. She squeals whenever she sees footage for this game. Why I can't get her to squeal like that saddens me.
That's looking great. I love how the guy in the background was surprised. I would've been too. this is looking better and better. It's almost like there's no limitation to what you can create. Amazing.
Are they user creatable, or do they have to be DLCed/bought/released by developers?
For that matter, I know textures can be imported, but can we make clothes for the little buggers, just like we can make objects for the courses?
LBP better get the continued backing when and after it comes out. Sony should tout it as a top-tier showcase game, along with Metal Gear and GT. I say this because, even before it comes out, LBP is one of the coolest IPs on any system out there.
@TitillatedOcelot:
have you considered dressing up in a burlap sack and putting stickers all over the bedroom? Might work.
Soooo Cute!
The real question is can I dress up like Kratos or Snake?
Call me weird, but this game makes me more interested in a PS3 than Killzone actually does.
Imagine being able to hold up fabric or material samples in front of the EYE and be able to use them in future creations. That would be wild...
LBP will force me (and I'm guessing quite a few others) to finally buy a PS3.
Fingers crossed for a PS3 redesign by then.
Is it odd that the first thing I said when I saw this was "Awww!".
So freaking awesome!
Also, it looks like the sackboys can gain different powers. One looked like it was breathing fire, while another was running and had a force field around him.
This game is gonna be too incredible for words!
?, rather. Not a period. >_>
@ mrantimatter & TitillatedOcelot
You both just made my day. hahaha good stuff.
PS: mrantimatter, you should try TitillatedOcelot's advice.
@mrantimatter: ...or maybe I could just wrap my sack in burlap. Nah...itchy =/= sexy.
Most awesome thing EVAR!
Ahhhh...show us more.
Teeeheeeeeee!!!
@DugDawg:
Not weird at all. This game is so different, it is impossible to tell if it will be good or bad, but it is, without a doubt, the most interesting game on the horizon.
@Woodwater: There! If I could write out what my fiancee does every time she sees LBP footage, it would probably look just like that.
Yup, those little guys still steal the show.
@DugDawg: I think you're seriously underestimating LBP. (And seriously overestimating Killzone, for that matter.)
@TitillatedOcelot:
Have you ever considered that Woodwater and your fiancee may, in fact, be the same person?
I don't think they've ever been in the same room at the same time...
Cant wait for 4-player build sessions with my friends :D
That music was pretty sweet.
amazing. Loved Battles, too
@DugDawg: This game excited me more than MGS 4, to be honest.
sackboy keeps getting better and better.
Wow. A world of possibilities unfolds. Miming stealthkills as sackboy Snake anyone?
LBP just got 1.6x cooler. That's 10x in regular hype points. :p Yeah, I can't help it, this game fanboys me up. It's so hard to imagine it sucking.
@Andy D.:
...oh yeah, that is unless they charge for everything. ><;
Does anyone else
think that looks better even
in janky-vision?
Awesome!!
I have no idea what this game is about. Funny thing is no one seems to be able to explain it. I am really beginning to think LBP is just some clever marketing scheme that got everyone saying how cool LBP is. No one has explained what it is that is so intriguing.
@bleeps: Yep, and a pretty good song too! Even if heavily edited, which is understandable, given that it's Battles...
Anyhow, interesting video. So far, I haven't been that impressed with LBP, but this video has perked my intereste somewhat. It's highly sugestive of how much (fun) mayhem can be acomplished with it. I'll keep a closer eye on the game from now on.
I so can't wait until it comes out! HURRY UP!!!!!!!!! Sweet video.
I still probably won't be playing much of this, but I'm really looking forward to the stream of youtube videos with user generated content.
With LBP, and echochrome, it's getting harder and harder to get by without a PS3 though. Never thought those were the kind of games to get me to buy a PS3, but the 360 sort of fills my shooter/action needs.
How is it possible for them to be that cute? It shouldn't be allowed!
This game is gonna make my last semester so much harder. They should make a killzone lbp level thatd be so tits!
If this turns out like it looks, this will BE the best thing since plasticine and stop-frame animation!
@TitillatedOcelot: That's because you're spending your time titillating ocelots.
@TitillatedOcelot:
heh heh heh
*sigh* I just want the game to come out now. Why must I wait?!?! WHY?!?! WWHHHYYYY!! *falls to knees*
yeaaaaaaahhhh like Killzone is now everybody's favorite series now? Sony, get on the mark we want solid snake. Kojima wouldn't mine either probably.
I will be seriously considering the purchase of a PS3 once this game comes out. Hopefully they've dropped in price by then.
@TOWER_JUNKIE: Say you have a platformer. Like Mario. You can play all the levels and finish it and... that's it. But in LBP you can create new levels, characters, pretty much anything you could imagine thanks to cute sackdolls and next gen physics. The graphics are nice, the gameplay seems fun and the user-created levels will probably be highly versatile. And YES, there are enemies, you CAN die and the puzzles can apparently get pretty tough. Add 4-player co-op to that and you have a very cute gem.
@Spoony Bard: HAHAHAAHHAHAH 1 MIN AFTER EACH OTHER ooo poor tittyocelot, just replace the T in your name with a Cl and ur golden
@sandwiches: I'll bite.... what do you want redesigned?
or do you mean waiting for the 'sexier' ps3 slim equivalent of the slimline ps2?
Cute!! :D:D:D:D
Man I cant believe it but I just squee'd hahaha. This game has got my fanboy centers going full bore. A bit hard to tell but man that looked like a fully playable build of the game. October cant get here fast enough.
@fuchikoma: The game very well might suck but it depends on how much you like messing around. The only reason for the game it to mess around and create odd creations along with play with the teddies. In my opinion it's not a good idea as it seems to have no structure and once you've built your stuff you just mess around with them and it's done. Sure you can see what other people messed around with but it's all just messing around for the sake of messing around cos there's nothing else to do.
bear in mind that's just my opinion though.
Sorry if people think I'm trolling, my first post (which didn't come through for some reason) did state that even though I don't like the game this is a very cool feature and may make the game alot more interesting. If it's just DLC on sale it'd still be cool as it can expand the game for those that want it but ideally you should be able to create your own characters with that level of detail and then it'd be a lot cooler.
@Llost: I tend to agree with you though.
LBP has been a creative and wonderful in its execution, but as a traditional gamer, i want a storyline, and i want proper challenging objectives in my game.
Say for example, if LBP were a side scroller like Metal Slug, and you had a campaign to complete, with proper gameplay mechanics like Metal Slug has, instead of just jumping around, then I would so completely sold.
I hope LBP turns out to be more than just a user-created content thing.
@Llost: there will be plenty of pre-made maps. you won't have to build anything, you can download the top-rated user maps through their community service too (which is probably what's taking them so much time)
@Llost: You know it's going to have a single player mode, right?
I don't really get comments like yours, and people always make them. It's a sidescrolling platformer. The purpose of the game is to platform in a sidescrolling manner. Just like gamers have been doing for the last 25 years.
It's a sidescroller where you can build your own levels and share them, or play together with other friends on the same levels. If that appeals to you, then it's a good choice for a game. If not, then you probably don't like the genre to begin with.
@TitillatedOcelot:
It saddens us all, dear friend. It saddens us all. Everyone, bow your heads for the Brotherhood of Man.
@rrghy: I hope so too but we'll have to wait and see since they barely show the single player.
@Suzaku: I don't doubt the reason they haven't shown much of that is because it's not the highest quality experience. The last time I saw it all they were doing was dropping rocks onto a platform to open a bridge and jumping higher if they grabbed onto a spinning wheel.
thats right it's a platformer so to stand out it needs to either have something unique about it or do the platforming part well. Since I obviously aren't into it's unique community centric DIY style of gaming I'm waiting to see if there is a good single player experience. And the point of my post is to merely look at the possibility that the game isn't as good as people say. One thing I hate is when you walk into a topic and it's full of nothing but praise. It's misleading if there are general concerns like mine. I'm just voicing an opinion no differnetly to those that say it's gonna be awesome (they haven't played it but say it's awesome and I haven't played it but assume it won't be).
I don't mind building things, my point was just that creating an entire game around building things isn't as interesting as having a more structured but changeable design. DIY gaming relies almost entirely on you doing all the work.
You know what? I think the developers are too damn busy playing the game to actually finish it!!!!
@bleeps: Yes, that made it even more awesome (Because Atlas is such an awesome song)...
@Xagest: I started to think that way too
@Llost: Damn you're dense. It's NOT entirely about building things. It's like saying UT is just about building maps. There's also a single-player/pre-made maps, there's a multiplayer aspect (4 player co-op) and you could be playing it for the next few years without having to build a single map since you can just download the most popular maps. And about the storyline, I'm not sure there's one but seriously, do you play Mario for its top notch story or just for the immediate fun of overcoming obstacles and see pretty colors with fun music?
The Helgeist sackboys.... I was already sold but now I will buy an extra backup copy. I forsee possibility of tons of DLC in the forms of costumes and gear for the lil sackboys and I for one would actually pay for it.
Shame nintendo couldnt/hasnt planned anything like this for the use of mii's that would be fun too especially with the wii remote and nunchuck.
@Llost: I hear what you are saying, but hell you know them college kids that would rather build stuff all day long or mod games all day would be all over this (if they have the right tools to go for that is). I am looking forward to playing stuff others create that is amazing. I know I cant build anything past lego sets.
Cute... :)
October cant come soon enough...
:(
