If you're hankering for a hunk of Fable 2 news, you will want to carve out some internet time for yourself next week, as the official Lionhead Studios blog teases some big-like news. "A lot is happening" writes the official Lionhead dev blog, "if you are anxious to find out something new about Fable 2, I suggest you make sure you've got access to the internet, next week! Yes we are planning something (quite) big-ish."
Big-ish, eh? We know it's not the only big-ish thing happening next week, as we expect a respectable number of pre-E3 announcements throughout the week, but we have to wonder what Fable 2 secrets await us. Perhaps we'll see that ballyhooed acorn or learn more about in-game pregnancy! Who wants to make a guess? There's a no-prize in it for you!
Lost My Teeth! [Fable 2 Development]

i watched every developer diary thing so far and im still positive on this game
Yeah this looks pretty awesome, I really don't think I have enough money for all the games this year.
Omg maybe the dog can have puppies.
the coop alone should be worth it. Can't wait to play it and hear/see more about it.
Maybe you can get Peter Molyneux pregnant in the game!
"Big-ish"? Has Peter finally learned how to set realistic expectations?
Someone needs to teach Lionhead the value of operating under the radar.
Keep your head low and make a good game. Lionhead tends to do the opposite.
Sounds kinda cool, I hope they release more news of features though because what I know of Fable 2 is that it's like Fable 1 except your forced to have a dog follow you. I don't really want a dog and if the rest of the game isn't much better than the first then I'll leave this one.
I didn't care too much for the control scheme in the first one (on the XBOX). Hope the controls will make more sense on #2.
I would like them to actually confirm that the co-op will be online instead of just the meaningless co-op they showed so far.
I only care about when the game is in my hands. Until then, they need to keep their hype machine in stealth mode.
@Lackshmana: It's only meaningless if you don't have any real life friends that play videogames.
I hope they've implemented virtual orgasmic rape.
that they would be a year of delay..
I only get excited for "Huge-esque" news thank you very much!
@cordsie: Bought.
Wait, whuh? E3? Whosawhatsit?
The greatest thing Molyneux could possibly do at this point is shut his fool mouth and let the game speak for itself.
BUT HE CAN'T DO IT!
What else can they give us?? its got everything ???? maybe the story line ?
@Guild_Navigator: That is completely untrue.
It is meaningless because it requires that you live near friends to play with them.
A lot of people have friends who don't live close by and those who do, don't always want to have to buy a memory unit to bring their characters.
Wow, Killzone 2 and it's an invasion of trolls. Fable 2 and... nothing? I kid, I kid. Fable 2 is actually one of my most anticipated games for my *future* 360. Absolutely loved the first one. I think it was just a victim of its official genre. If they had presented it as an "Adventure" game instead of "RPG" it wouldn't have been so slashed.
my guess is online coop, saying they hinted at it, but would not make it offical...
If it's not megaton, it's not worth hearing.
It'll most likely be about the XBLA game that ties into Fable 2!
@Lackshmana:
By that logic Online is useless too because there are people that don't have internet access.
@baxterpunch: "Has Peter finally learned how to set realistic expectations?"
Hahhahhahhah haha ahh.....
No.
But I'm glad. The industry needs people who are willing to push the envelopes until they break, not just quietly under the radar but out there in the open where everyone can see it and feel that, in some way, the gauntlet has been thrown. Even if the resulting games fail to meet expectations, or are broken, people like him inspire other developers to take that extra step when otherwise they might not feel the risk is worth it.
Besides, he's responsible for the Populous series, the Syndicates, the Magic Carpets and the Dungeon Keepers so I'm willing to cut him some slack.
Korn is doing the soundtrack for Fable 2!!!!!!!
Fine. I'll plaster myself to my chair next week and eagerly await the juicy morsel of information you're dangling out there, Molyneux, you heartless, wonderful bastard.
@Asper: In Fable 2, you can plant Korn and grow a limp biscuit!
@Zazu_Yen: He doesn't push the envelope. He throws out ideas which are neat and almost never implements them or when he does 16 other studios beat him to it.
He himself is puzzled at why people listen to him given his ratio of delivery over promise. But he does seem to be a sincere and imaginative fellow.
@Michael McWhertor:
Microsoft is having some press even next week (May 13th) called the Spring Showcase. Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden II and Banjo 3 are all supposed to be there and possibly some surprises. I haven't seen Kotaku mention anything about it, though. Are you guys going to be there?
[360.kombo.com]
@kingmanic: Maybe I just have a soft spot for him because he reminds me of a great boss I had who unfortunately passed away. I stand by my statement that the world needs nutty professors, they show the possibilities even if they can't reach them.
I do miss the old Bullfrog though. Lionhead has not been able to fill that gap.
I've never liked teasing no matter the source. Although teasing from a pretty woman is a lot more acceptable if I am going to be teased.
On that note I grew sick of updates and teasing when dealing with Halo3 and Bungie.
If its anything news worthy I am sure Kotaku will have something up about it.
Don't you think you've beaten the dead horse enough? Leave the poor acorn alone.
I can't wait! I usually don't care for these fantasy RPG types but Fable 2 looks really fun.
Need to play through the first one. Bought it last month from Xbox originals last month and didn't have the time to play through it yet. I think I'll stay away from all the hype around it, my friend was telling me how he felt let down by the game not delivering what was promised, me on the other hand never heard of Fable(never bought the original xbox) so I am able to play the game without any pre-conceptions, which made the game enjoyable in my opinion.
@Mr Fortitude: You're probably being sarcastic, but that would be kind of cool.
Yes, I'm a dork.
I think it'll live up to my expectations only because when I bought Fable 1 I didn't know anything about it.
I'm hoping for online co-op too. And yes, couch co-op is also fun.
Dammit, I want both. All co-op games should local and online options.
Fable 2 = possibly my most anticipated game for this year.
I loved Fable 1 soo much, It was just such a great game even though a lot of people didn't care much for it.
Fable 2 is the second biggest reason I got my 360, next to Halo 3.
@slomo788: *sigh* I normally don't take requests but I've always liked you so...
This game sucks and it's missing teh Ps. This definitely won't save micro$oft because they've been loosing ground to the Wii and the PS3. It's getting slaughtered in Europe and also RROD.
... I hope you enjoyed.

I really do love this game. The cross functionality between the game and the XBLA titles seems really cool. About the only thing that scared me about the last video of Fable (at GDC I think it was) was the multi-player co-op camera. I hope when I'm connected over live, the camera follows me instead of trying to keep me and my partner on screen. That would annoy me royally. Besides that, I have nothing but praise for the features in this game and Peter seems to be doing right to deliver all the things he wants but the final judgment will be whether the combat is as satisfying as he totes.
@okenny :): :) Thank you.
XBLA cross-functionality? That's something I didn't know about! *runs to Wikipedia*
If you can actually jump over a knee-high fence as shown in the picture, the game is already a quantum leap ahead of its predecessor.
@bookishboy: Yup, apparently you can. The environment is highly interactive.
At this point the only info I even care to hear about this game is the status of co-op play over Xbox Live and any related details like the number of people who can participate. Unless I missed it (not likey) so far they have only announced co-op via screen sharing. I will buy it either way, but with co-op via Xbox Live I will probably get twice as much play time out of it (and Microsoft will finally sell my friend Paul a gold account).
I would love to know if/when a PC version of Fable 2 is coming...
You're gonna gonna be able to go all Johnny Appleseed and plant, um, apple trees?
maybe a beta
What the fuck is a Big Ish Ton?
GoW, Mass Effect, games i wanted to play on xbox360 but i can now play on PC, bet 10$ that Fable 2 will be one of those games.
