I've always found it amusing how this kind of music arbitrarily shoves English lyrics into the Japanese.

I don't understand. How can fighting in the street make "a future brighter"? And whose future? Yours? Those of the spectators? And if indeed the fighting makes a future brighter, why does the fighter need such encouragement? Wouldn't you just continue the future-brightening fight, without needing a whole song telling you about how great it was? All kinds of jobs make the--or a--future brighter, but most people don't need theme songs to tell them that.

Maybe fighting doesn't make the future brighter--thus the need for the song, probably sung by people who know the truth, yet have some sort of stake in your continuing to fight.

This thing just blew my mind. I prefer my fighting/J-pop mashups to be less thought-provoking.

I knew Dhalsim was really Weird Al Yankovic in disguise! Or was it the other way around....?

I'd definitely listen to this on repeat. It makes me reminisce about SFII's awesomeness.

@SuperOmelet: perhaps, or maybe the workers of the future brightening jobs are waiting for a j-pop song based on a game based on their profession to give them the encouragement to continue. for example doctors, politicians, lawyers, and faceless space marines.

@ese: That was for the SNES version of SF2 i think the SEGA ones had the car one instead.

I thought it was funny that the Japanese characters used "Showa" for their age, everyone else got the western calendar.
