Gizmodo Media Group (GMG), which is part of Univision's digital arm, Fusion Media Group, is seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly creative senior video producer for its productivity and lifestyle website, Lifehacker.com.
 

Gizmodo Media Group is the publisher of the web’s most original and fearless media brands, including Gizmodo, Earther, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Jezebel, Deadspin, Splinter, Jalopnik, TrackRecord and The Root.  As part of Fusion Media Group, we reach an audience of +120 million visitors a month — more than one-third of all Americans.

 

The ideal candidate will find creative ways to make videos on topics ranging from how to find the best pair of jeans to secret tricks for getting the cheapest flight. They have a keen sense of humor and can explain in a way that's entertaining and engaging stuff that might, in lesser hands, come off as boring. They should be curious about the best methods to keep produce fresh, travel light, and save money on household essentials; they should be passionate about finding out the best thing to buy, from phones to televisions to water bottles. 

 
Speed in a fast-paced digital blogging environment is essential, as well as being a passionate visual storyteller looking for new ways to explain a hack and create new video formats.  
 
 
Duties Include:
  • 4+ years experience in digital video production with demonstrated results in creating widely shared videos on social media platforms
  • Experience as a shooter and experience editing in Premiere Pro are essential.
  • Working with video leadership and Lifehacker’s Editor-in-Chief to execute targeted video growth strategies.
  • Pitching and overseeing all Lifehacker videos. 
  • Managing your fellow Lifehacker video producers.
  • Hiring and managing crews for special projects.
  • Working collaboratively with Lifehacker’s talented bloggers and 
  • Working collaboratively with other GMG sites (Jezebel, Deadspin, Jalopnik, Gizmodo, Earther, The Root, Splinter and Kotaku).

This position is in the WGA-E bargaining unit.
