Sprite based games drawn at SD resolutions look like hell on a 1080p plasma or LCD/LED. Whenever I play this on my Saturn, the characters look crazy blocky when close or jaggy and half drawn when far away (not to mention the spell effects like fireballs just being a mass of pixels).

That looks great. No horrendous pixelization like the original, yet not all smeary like the filters used for Sonic on XBLA, and the palette looks fine. Read more

Agreed, OP. I love an open RPG as much as the next guy, but also enjoy a tightly scripted, linear game as well. Uncharted and Portal are two great examples of totally linear, yet amazing and critically acclaimed games. Read more

Oh dear God yes. I just had my Saturn out recently to play this, and it's still great. Hooked up to a plasma via RF adapter and zoomed to fill the screen though.....yech. I'm so looking forward to buying this, and hope they reformat it for widescreen with a new HUD overlay. Read more

That's because the originals are literally gone- forever. It's not as easy as feeding the DVD into a computer, hitting "enhance", and having HD versions. They actually need physical film masters, which were badly deteriorated. Read more

Just finished the MK9 story mode and loved it. I'll be moving on to the challenge tower next, and have to say Netherrealm has made the best MK game since MK2. That being said, if they expect me to pay a single cent to unlock character skins that are on the disc, they can suck my balls. Read more
