Problem is, there's money to be had there. And who's to say he doesn't have an idea about them that's sparking his creative juices? I don't play social internet games, but there's nothing to say he couldn't come up with something I would play. Read more

"Ninjas. They've been a staple of video game adventures for decades now, but games featuring them almost always happen in feudal times." Read more

Glad to hear that. TIme to reinstall my Halo Wars premium theme (the only one I've purchased, though I did purchase some of the original non-premium themes as well). Read more

Voice is a huge part of the new Dashboard, no question. But amongst Kinect games, few (if any) use voice in any key and mandatory way, and a great many don't use voice in any way at all. Virtually anything you can do with voice you can also do with gestures. Voice may become more key to Kinect over time, but it Read more

I didn't know Youtube and the video-on-demand services wouldn't be there at launch, that was a disappointment. I'll live, though. :) Read more

I thought one of the criticisms of Kinect was that most of the games either don't use voice commands, or don't use them for mission critical things. I have a Kinect and rarely use voice commands because the software I use either doesn't use voice, or it's an option that I don't end up preferring to controller/gesture Read more

I don't do Android (I'm a Windows Phone guy), but I wonder if this'll run on my girlfriend's Kobo Vox e-reader tablet? It's a 7" Android tablet running v2.3. Huh. Maybe something to try. Read more

Premium themes don't work anymore? Huh. That's a surprising decision, IMO. Since, you know, people paid for them. I'll miss my Halo Wars theme. Read more

Are the beacons limited only to retail games and XBLA, or can you use them for Indie Games too? There are a lot of sweet indie games with great online play, but small communities that are difficult to find games for. Beacons could be the answer. Read more

Seems to me that, on the C-64, tapes were the standard outside North America, and floppies the standard inside North America. It was annoying when a game's design was made less ambitious because they had to make a tape version too, as disc-only games were rare in Europe. (Though I was in Canada, I grew up reading a Read more

I had a VIC-20, and that was certainly true of it pretty much everywhere. For the next-generation, in North America the 1541 floppy drive quickly became de rigeur, whereas outside North America the tape drive remained common. Read more

"The Canuck" is disappointing. Manouevring was spelled the American way (maneuvering), and it refers to "Killer Whale" rather than Orca (which is really weird). The Canucks always refer to their logo as being an orca, not a killer whale. For years the company that operated the Canucks was even known as Orca Bay

I must admit that I'm now to the point that I no longer purchase games when they launch. Why bother when, as you say, they'll only become less buggy, more completely, and less expensive the longer I wait? Read more
