@Jon: Care to share your solution? I had the two-core affinity workaround but the game still had missing effects (rain, lens flare). So I grabbed the patch (which fixes the effects) that supposedly fixes 'multi-core issues' (ie. crashing) and it has not solved the problem AND now it crashes when using the workaround. Read more
