Honestly, I think RPGs in general are kind of fading away, not just JRPGs. Single player party based tactical gameplay has pretty much disappeared from Western games. Diablo II killed it. Dragon Age was the last hold out and they're slowly moving towards a rhythm based combat system too. Read more

@Manly McBeeferton: Tactical gameplay is disappearing in WRPGs too. It's not like the Witcher, for example, required mind breaking decisions. Read more

@Steezy McFresh: Battle for Wesnoth is free (and supposedly much better) on PC if you want to try it. Read more

@Danza: PC gamers used to not consider consoles legitimate gaming systems. After all, every real gamer would prefer the superior graphics and accuracy of the PC. We see how well that worked out. Read more

@TheRealDoshu: There were two at the thrift store near me but I already have two copies. Read more

If only they had used friend codes. The hackers would have been shut out. Read more

@rainofwalrus: I don't think so. Mass Effect was never great as an RPG, so its shift toward being more of a shooter made it a better game in my book. I started using the cover system about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in ME2 rather than never using it like in ME, because the combat was better and harder. Read more

Combine that with a strengthening PC market and the fact that they've released GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas for the PC three separate times, and I'd be shocked if they didn't Read more

@IMonkey: You didn't have to register to vote. A lot of people came in from wherever, voted, and left. Read more

That's pretty shocking. I had never heard of toyfair, but I was sure Wizard would survive long after I'm gone. Read more

@Robotic-Richard-Simmons: The writing for Shepard sucked, again. Shepard is by far the weakest and lamest character in the entire game. Which means that all your responses to dialog are put through a lame filter and come out sounding lame. Read more

I'd kind of like to see how many votes some of the more successful write-in's got. I think it speaks a little to dissatisfaction at the choices that the percentage of write-ins was so large when three of the four games' companies were tweeting and sending people here to vote. Either that or it was just a really good Read more

@Kotaku Reject: I'm not a huge fan. I'm not crazy about the style, definitely not crazy about the way it fetishizes the young and women, and when I get the jokes I think they're kind of dumb. Read more
