I think the big difference is that Minecraft doesn't punish you for not playing the game, it doesn't offer incentives to get more people in, and it doesn't have incredibly shady financials. Also, it's $13 Farmville can cost an unlimited amount. Read more

@Yossarian: Actually at our school psychology majors (which I wasn't but my roommate was), had to do lab time with most of their classes some of which was studies of human/animal behavior like Skinner boxes, and the more advanced students got to do more advanced experiments with electrodes and EEGs, etc. Read more
