I don't work in the telecommunications business, so no, I can't do a fucking thing about middle America's well documented slow internet speeds. It's a well known issue that I absolutely agree is problematic, but what the fuck do you want me to do about it? Read more

So, you snarkily respond to my comments by saying that Kotaku is the source to trust on the matter and that's NOT attempting to discount the positive experiences that I and many other people have had? The one person at Kotaku that played with the service is as variable a result as any other person. Sure, NOW isn't Read more

So, you're claiming that I and several other people who have responded to my comments with similar zero-perceptible-lag experiences are all being dishonest? How exactly do we benefit from that? Is Sony paying us off to lie about their service? Read more

Then I suppose you don't game on an HDTV with digital inputs. That creates latency. Read more

To me it was more than "surprising" that it works as well as it does, it was downright SHOCKING, especially after experiencing OnLive which, IMO was really sub-par in action. But, really, NOW on a solid broadband connection is very very impressive stuff. The only thing I think they need to rethink is the pricing Read more

Seriously. I'm pretty sure that most of the hate here comes from people with little to no experience with the software in action. But, so is the way with most internet hate, it's always a blind dogpile. Read more

I've experienced zero noticeable input lag on any games that I've played. If your ping is sub 20 that will likely be the case for you too. Read more

That may be true but it doesn't change the fact that the service functions as advertised in what I consider to be"optimal conditions". Nothing I can do to help middle America's networking problems. If you're on the coasts and have average or above quality network speeds you should be golden. Read more

20mbps down, 2 up. Ookla rates my average ping at 19. I don't have any means to test the ping between my PS3 or PS4 and the NOW servers but I would imagine if my home network can average that type of ping to a local speed test server I'm probably in that range for NOW. Read more

I read it pretty closely when I signed it, the details of the NDA only forbade sharing audio/video of the service. We're free to discuss it in public forums if we choose to. Read more

Clearly you're not in the initial beta because there are no fighting games available at this time. Also, you've clearly not experienced the service hands on, because frankly I think it could actually handle a fighting game just fine in optimal conditions. Read more

Yeah, I think the article is being a bit obtuse when it says "YOU MUST HAVE A WIRED CONNECTION" instead of just saying that wired is probably optimal but high end wireless setups may be able to accommodate it. Also, to clarify remote play local on both PSP and Vita net reasonable to excellent response speeds, it's the Read more

In addition to backwards compatibility, I believe if they can manage to work out some kind of monthly fee for universal access to games like Netflix they could have a wildly popular ala carte service to offer Playstation users who are already happily dropping $50 a year for PLUS. If they make a decent library of Read more

Good to know more about the mechanics of it all, must be a solid ping to the NOW servers then. Read more

Ookla rates my ping at around 19. Not sure how good or average that is, but that makes for me having a great experience with NOW. Read more

Playstation NOW is nothing like remote play on PS3 via PSP. It's not even like remote play on PS4 on a Vita. Unlike those setups which have some pretty noticeable to severe lag, from my lengthy experience in the beta, I find that NOW has virtually imperceptible lag and exceptionally stable visual fidelity even with my Read more

I believe that connection speed will inevitably cause variable results across all users. This should be a known factor in any streaming gaming service. However, I have a 20 down 2 up and 19 ping (rated by Ookla) with my broadband connection, have been in the NOW beta since day one on both PS3, and more recently on PS4. Read more

Yeah I know, but the resemblance is pretty striking!
