The annual celebration of all things Diablo, StarCraft, and Warcraft returns to sunny Anaheim, California this October, as Blizzard reveals the dates for the fifth installment of BlizzCon.
Stock up on blue body paint and get your fake elf ears ready, because BlizzCon five is only seven months away. Blizzard's annual fan gathering returns to the Anaheim Convention Center this year on October 22 and 23, continuing the trend of alternating between August and October dates.
Fans can expect hands-on time with Blizzard's games, panels, contests, cosplay, tournaments, and enough Blizzard-themed swag to keep them going for another year. As always, Kotaku will be there, stalking Draenei.
"BlizzCon offers us a great opportunity to meet with our players and share our enthusiasm for gaming with one of the most passionate communities in the world," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're looking forward to providing another great show filled with entertainment, competition, and the latest information about Blizzard Entertainment games."
BlizzCon has also proven to be an excellent way to determine how fast tickets will sell out when you have millions of fans around the world vying for some 20,000 slots. Last year's queue system seemed to have less trouble than the previous year's broken website system at least. We look forward to seeing what innovations Blizzard brings to the ticket buying process later this year.
