Went to a Shinto shrine to have Micro Bash blessing. The Shinto ceremony is called "omiyamairi." The grandmother carries and then holds the baby during the ceremony while a priest prays for the baby's health and happiness. Babies are usually blessed about a month after birth — we waited about two months because we got busy with the Japanese New Year's. That, and it was really cold outside. (Didn't want the little tyke to get sick!)
I have pictures on my Facebook account if you are so inclined.
Always think that in Japan it's interesting how people are blessed in Shinto shrines as children, married in chapels and then buried by Buddhist monks.
