Kotaku Approval Ratings: Batman and Your Game Platforms

Illustration for article titled Kotaku Approval Ratings: Batman and Your Game Platforms

Last week's inaugural Approval Ratings seemed to be a success, with more than 15,000 of you responding to nine questions. Now let's look at this week's major release, your gaming habits, and some current titles.

For this poll, we're looking at how you feel about Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is due out on Tuesday. Also, by popular demand, we're surveying what gaming platforms you own - you may check more than one - and then which one you prefer the most. That's necessarily a single choice only, sorry. Finally, there's a spread of games, some exclusive, some multiplatform, for you to deliver a play/no play verdict.

"Do you want to play" now replaces "Is it worth playing," as this poll's basic "approval rating" question. You do not have to own the console if a game is exclusive to one. You are free to interpret the meaning of the question. Do you want to it play it just once? To completion? Do you want to play it with friends only? All of these are valid. It's an all-things-being-equal question.

Again, you will not see the results of these polls after you vote. They will close tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. U.S. Mountain Time. We will publish the results and an analysis the following Thursday evening.

Thanks again, and here are this week's questions.

Thanks for taking my "what platforms do you own" suggestion from last week's comment section, Owen. I was really hoping you would add that to help gauge the results to the questions. I read the "add/own" thing as "own," so selected "PC" even though I rarely game on PC (last time was Elder Scrolls Oblivion).

I wish you would have had a question come up for those who own both PS3 and 360 as to which console they were planning to buy Batman for (curious to see if the "Play-as-Joker" bonus will outweigh using an arguably superior controller without the bonus-I suspect I will buy the 360 version of the game, even though I won't get the bonus. The PS3 controller messes up my wrists and hands, so I only use it for PS3 exclusives).

Overall, this was a really good survey. And a really good idea to add these surveys to Kotaku. Can't wait to see the results from this one!
