Melanoma Head's Coming

Illustration for article titled Melanoma Head's Coming

I don't think I want to know a six-year-old who isn't a dreamer, or a sillyheart. And I sure don't want to know one who takes their student career seriously. I don't have a college degree. I don't even have a job. But I know a good kid when I see one. Because they're all good kids, until dried-out, brain-dead skags like you drag them down and convince them they're no good. You so much as scowl at my niece, or any other kid in this school, and I hear about it, and I'm coming looking for you! Now, take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face! Good day to you, madam.

First time I saw this movie was when I recorded it on VHS when it appeared on TV. Now you know you TV versions of these movies have little bits taken out of it to fit the time, right?

Well, after over a decade, I finally see Uncle Buck playing on a cable channel without the missing bits and the story ended up with a major difference.

Remember that scene near the end when Buck power drills his way into a room because he thinks the teen girl's sleazeball boyfriend is trying to get her into the sack? Do you also remember the bit afterwards when Buck reconciles with the teen daughter and pops the trunk of his car to show her boyfriend tied up inside?

That second part wasn't in the TV version. Up until then, all I had seen was the USA channel version which implied (unintentionally, I have to imagine) Buck killed/maimed that kid with a power drill. o.o
