Just announced for an August 16 release on PlayStation 4 and PC, Inversus is a unique multiplayer shooter from Ryan Juckett, the former lead sandbox engineer on Destiny. Players shoot bullets that fill in the area the enemy team can move, and vice versa. It’s ridiculously fun. See more here.
Chime Sharp, the sequel to one of my favourite old XBLA games, is now out on Steam. It’s got music by Kavinsky and Chvrches, and is rather good if you’re into games like Lumines.
Satellite Reign, a very good video game (especially if you like Syndicate) just got even better with the addition of co-op for the game’s campaign. It’s a free update, and it works both online and via LAN.
New Steam release Anarcute is a game about smashing up cities and putting the boot into a dystopian future security force. It is Katamari Damacy vs Jet Set Radio, only with violence, and it’s one of the nicest surprises I’ve played this year.
HK is a game that is very early in development. But it looks so cool that I figured it was worth sharing.
The Technomancer feels like a 90s RPG based on an 80s comic book.
Tacoma is the next effort from Fullbright, the developers of Gone Home. Here’s the game’s E3 trailer.
Today, during its E3 2016 press conference, EA announced EA Originals, a new program committed to partnering with small developers creating unique experiences and helping them bring their work to life.
This is Pan-Pan, out on Steam on August 25. It looks lovely.
Lastfight is a new fighting game from Piranaking that, well, as the headline suggests, should be of interest to anyone who likes their fighting games a little (or a lot) more 3D than Street Fighter can manage.
I mean no offence by that, adult players of existing Pokémon games. But Pokémon Apex is a fan-made game that’s aimed specifically at post-puberty humans.
Hellion is a sandbox survival game. Only instead of being set on an island or a city, it’s set in the depths of space.
Youtubers Life is just like The Sims. If The Sims could sit in front of a computer and record themselves playing video games for a living.
UBOOT is a Second World War game set on a German submarine. Thing is, you’re not controlling the boat. You’re controlling the men who control the boat.
3030 Deathwar Redux looks cool! There’s space combat, adventure gaming, open exploration stuff, a nice soundtrack and some solid pixel art. It’s available now on Early Access.
Normally, a concept artist’s job is to work on a game that already exists. In this case, a concept artist’s personal work has proven so popular that it’s inspired its own video game.
