With most of my 2007 purchases shown above, it's already been a fairly decent year for gaming, even when catching up on all the missed 2006 releases. But after getting tons of hands-on time with the games at E3 2006, I've carefully refined my list of what I'm picking up for the rest of 2007. As of now, it's set to break the bank. Rock Band alone is going to require I sustain myself on dry toast and eating my own hair for at least a month. So let's talk about what we're picking up for the rest of the year and beyond, based on impressions from last week's E3.
Granted, some of this stuff could slip to 2008, but based on current release lists, these are my picks for personal purchases and Amazon wish list entries.
The Rest of 2007
Assassin's Creed (PS3, Xbox 360)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360)
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (PSP)
Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn (Wii)
Half-Life 2: The Orange Box (PC)
Jam Sessions (DS)
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PS3, Xbox 360)
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS)
Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword (DS)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3)
Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360)
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
Silent Hill Origins (PSP)
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (Wii)
A pretty safe list, one that I'm sure to deviate from, but you get the general idea. Oddly enough, I almost considered dropping Assassin's Creed. Other stuff that won't make it for the holidays is below.
Beyond 2007
echochrome (PS3)
Killzone 2 (PS3)
LittleBigPlanet (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
Resident Evil 5 (PS3, Xbox 360)
Wii Fit (Wii)
What about yourself? Any surprise "must haves" you suddenly noticed at E3? Anything fall off the list? Let's make with the game lists people!
