Though, I believe PS3 has a better summer lineup than christmas. GTA, MGS4 and even GT5 prologue. That beats easily resistance 2, ... and other titles. (excluding GH, COD, etc)

I'm not desperate to bash Sony, but you seem desperate to bash me for pointing out a problem with Sony's continued arrogance in relation to the Xbox 360.

I wasn't trying to equate the two comments. I was simply saying that if Sony is going to say that its the definitive next gen platform, as it previous has, then it doesn't do itself any favors to say that its biggest game ever is a game that is available on multiple platforms, and actually sells more copies on Xbox 360.

And to say that the Xbox 360's exclusive downloadable content for GTA is the "last shot they [Microsoft] has," well I think that's a bit arrogant and naive.

I get what you mean. At least I'll be playing that game well into retirement. My retirement. If a NG3 does come along, I'm afraid I won't get a chance to play it on account of the heart attack of joy that would follow.

There are a lot of unknowns in 360s future otherwise, but just as many on PS3. Mostly everything is multi-plat now or will soon be.

MGS has a rabid following and it will certainly do a million or more it's first week. However, in the long-term I predict it will move around 5 million copies for the system this year. Not bad, but not up to part with the 8+ million predicted for GTA.

I don't think the GTA IV's DLC is Microsoft's last gasp for air because MS has plenty of software, much more than the PS3. However, I belive the 360's reputation for all the hardware defects/RRoD will be it's doom.

GTA IV outsold Halo 3 on the 360 in Europe (possibly in other areas). It's taken the top spot on XBL. It's one of (if not the) biggest title the 360 has seen, whether MS notes it or not. So what's the big deal? There is none, but you're desperate to bash Sony, so you're making it a big deal.

Reeve's comment about the PS3's lineup only works on a subjective level. But look at what he says:

I expect all three consoles, and the industry as a whole, to have another great year with single year profits to jump over those of '07. 2008 has been great, just when I get caught up on finishing some of the stellar titles from 07 a big game like GTA4 is released and proceeds to suck up my time. MKWii gets some play time also.

Now we have many potentially great titles on the horizon (opinions aside) like LBP, MGS4, Gears2, Fable2,Ninga Gaiden, Alan Wake, Too Human, Another Guitar Hero or two, etc, etc, etc. Me, I want a copy of Left 4 Dead Mike Booth and Company. I hope to see that one on '08.

You know it's really strange that MS and SONY choose to mostly ignore the fact that Nintendo is handing them their asses. Which is making my 4 year old prediction of SONY taking top honors in hardware sales less plausible has each day passes. It could still happen.

Still, I like that Reeves was actually quite restrained and didn't totally trash the competition, which is an attitude I always found rather classless. Personally I think both systems have got such strong line-ups that this year will be even bigger than last year for games.

I love senseless violence. If I "had" to pick a side though, I'd pick Sony's because even though I like the private chat feature and the ability to check my messages ingame on my 360, I like the fact that my playstation 3 powers on every time without fail.

To me both systems have good exclusives but the ones I am interested in (Gears, Mass Effect) are just timed exclusives and eventually move to the PC where they are 100000% better and also where I'd rather play them. If I knew ME was going to be on PC I would have gotten rid of my 360 for a new DS or a PSP Slim (I fell asleep and rolled over on my DS and cracked the shit outta it...I Hate myself).

Looking much more forward to Resistance 2, LBP, and MGS4 this year. I would say Killzone 2 but those sumbitches! Maybe they need more time to make sure it doesnt suck (I'll try anything though).

For Sony I don't think games like Resistance 2 or even LBP will move many PS3's, neither will a team ICO game but Sony does have the advantage of having some franchises people are REALLY waiting for i.e. MGS4, FF XII and God of War 3.

Other than that you are right.

Their big argument for owning 08 was how many hiuge franchises they had coming out...now its pretty much MGS4 and LBP...unless it gets delayed. Oh and home....unless it also gets delayed. But aside form that what is left? RFOM2 should be good, but Gears 2 kindof covers that. Aside from those 3 games, ps3 owners are once again being asked to wait till next year.

His first point is debatable. Microsoft's big victory was the fact that GTA IV wasn't another Playstation timed exclusive and I think they would get that even without the 50 mil.$ deal. DLC was just icing in the MS cake.

The Take-Two deal i assume hes referring to is the Exclusive DLC for GTA4 which he just sounds bitter about to be honest.

Anyway. Gears 2 will be huge. I don't think other titles such as Too Human will get much attention but it seems like a great game in concept. Fable 2 should be interesting, everything but its not really a mainstream game.

You can simply compare out/upcoming RPGs are a visual of how much better Microsoft is doing. Aside from Sony's big hitter of FF, they've got nothing on the 360's upcoming RPGs.

Microsoft successfully stole the "Sony" game of GTA away and they're bitter. That's all this is.

Then two massive titles, Gears of war 2 and Ninja gaiden 2. Then the ones like Cry on, infinite undiscovered, far east of ziria and stuff people haven't heard much word on for a while.
