Oh I have played Hitman and Final Fantasy games. Hitman is another cinematic score I can't remember. FF games have nice scores I just wish they wouldn't sound like media files. I wish they'd used a real orchestra.

I play so many games. but none of the music in games these days real excites or inspires me. Has anyone here hummed the theme to bioshock, lost planet lately? Whatever happened to a memorable melody? Like i said I'm so old skool, NES, SNES, PS1 music. That's not to say I don't like any game music today. Portal, God Of War, Katamari Damacy I love all that.

Anyway, the retro music is great. The retro visuals also really reminded me of Silpheed on Sega CD. I just wish I could set the game to have the non-retro visuals and the retro music.

There used to be more care love and atention to soundtracks. Especially games made by Namco. Who often gave you three alternative versions of the soundtrack. Soul Blade on PSone has one of the best soundtracks ever for a fighter! I guess since back then the graphics were more limited. So they paid more attention to the soundtrack?

These days you either get the cinematic style soundtrack, licensed sountrack or the awful generic soundtracks found in VF5 or DOA4. Kudos to Namco though for trying a bit more with Tekken 5, but I'm getting off track here. XBLA music is the topic. Often XBLA games will have one music track and loop it. Marble Blast for example, what a waste. Even an old game like Marble Madness had different music tracks for each levek. No excuse! Switchball gets it right though, but that games too short.
