1) Going to the middle island before being 'supposed' to not only starts the game to running verrrrry slow, it also makes 6 stars instantly appear - though I assume this was by design.

2) I walked into the Star-something cafe and everyone that I looked at would disappear, though I would still push them out of the way.

3) People sometimes spawn half-way inside the ground.

4) I got inside the wheelwell of a semi and got dragged around the city at speed without getting hurt.

5) Car duplication - sometimes the game seems to have trouble figuring out what to spawn, and it generates multiple duplicate cars. I find myself running into two 'Patriots' with the stupid paintjob quite frequently.

6) Commentary - it gets confused based on what the devs thought you would do. Brucie suggested I go to whatever the swank clothing place is even though I was already decked out in their crap. Same with the cop, buy a suit? What, this 1000$ suit not nice enough?

7) You can surf on some fences, jump and just follows it to the end (where theres a pot of gold?)

8) Mission autosaving trivializes some end-missions stuff, like having 4 stars after the cops raid you, but the autosave feature makes it so you don't have to deal with nitty-gritty like getting away (feature not bug, I guess)

9) Carjacking sailboats leads to some hilarity as the former pilot teleports up to the roof and retains a normal walking animation.

All of these are fairly minor but noticeable in just two days play.

I just finished the XBox 360 (20gb, non-HDMI) version. I had serious freezes when I got into Pegorino's Pride (70% through?). I finally had to load a saved game from a few missions back and re-play some missions.

After I rel-loaded, I made sure I didn't leave too many 'open' mission paths. At one point before I froze, I think I had 5-7 'open' mission paths (e.g., Brucie, Gerrie McCreary, etc., available as destinations). When I re-loaded, I made sure I had 3-4 'open' missions at most. No more freezes.

Now, I also left the network cable disconnected the network cable, but I had done this earlier when I had the freezes and it didn't help.

I'm not sure if the above was the reason it stopped freezing for me, but it worked for me.

It started at the 30% finish mark of the game, 3 days into owning it.

The issue has stopped now, been around 10 installs, but I think it's gone now, but who knows when it'll come back.

I feel for whoever out there is still having this issue, I have an beef with Insomniac games for never patching the bug that keeps a large amount of players of Ratchet & Clank Future from finishing the game.

Some people have had no problems thus far, but using that as anecdotal evidence to say the game is glitch-free is like saying a car is immune to breakdowns because it's been driving fine for the week you've owned it.

I have been unable to play the game I've purchased since launch. Period. The game will not run for more than two minutes without freezing the entire system. I have never/do not have any other issue with any other PS3 game, and no permutation or combination of the "13-step fix", network settings, or any other anecdotal suggestions makes the slightest different.

I have managed to limp my way to "bleed out", but unless I find a way to beat the mission in less than three minutes the game is for all intents and purposes - unplayable without a patch.

I know from threads people like me are in the huge minority (and unfortunately mostly 60 Gig owners who were the early-adopters) but even a .5% of all users would be >25,000 players.

I would consider that a SIGNIFICANT glitch.

By saying that the problem doesn't exist or that it is minimal would mean that they will not be as motivated to find a way to fix it.

I got my copy of GTA IV after reading online that a problem existed because I expected R* and sony to come up with a fix to their customers in a promptly manner. But when a representative says that there are not problems whatsoever that doesn't please me at all.

this was something i tested thoroughly with the 60gb ps3 and turns out turning off the internet on the ps3 solved it. it's not to say though that my piss-poor router causes those hiccups too.

I solved it thus: reset the console, and signed off of PSN.

Standard, eh? It didn't stop there. I then loaded my game and saved again (overwriting the previous save), then Quit out of GTA4 and signed back on the the PSN.

Haven't had any lockups since.

I think the saving system is just screwy sometimes.
