The entire level could be cleared purely with a cape and Yoshi.

It's by far one of my favorite levels.

And yeah, I love the Touhou music in this piece.

This wasn't really something that took a lot of music skills. It's still one of the single most impressive things I've ever seen, but that's a matter of finding how to make certain notes, and then laying it out in a level that's still entertaining watch. Really, this is just one amazing video in a series of meh to great videos of the same medley. Look around some-- there are ones out there of an entire lecture hall full of people singing, ones of computerized vocals, there are many hilarious ones out there.

Mario games aren't praised enough for the fact that not only are levels laid out logically, but that sometimes they are mathematically perfect. SMW seems to exist in a universe where running balls out is more likely to succeed than walking slowly through everything.
