But yeah, Sweden was seriously gimped on PS3 copies but I know Game complains of being gimped on 360 copies as well. My brother failed to find a 360 copy at Siba, OnOff and ElGiganten in Stockholm, but when he found it at Webhallen he stopped looking. It does feel like some selet stores like MediaMarkt got a shitload of 360 copies though while their PS3 copies were sold out 25 minutes after opening the crate.

It's impossible to analyze the situation based on this, since we do not know how high the demand is for the next batch. Everything we know is that the UK got "slightly" more 360 copies in the first batch than PS3s. But besides that all we can see is that:

Portion of PS3 copies sold: 100%
Portion of 360 copies sold: 100%

You can't draw any scientific conclusion on which one is the most popular since the market isn't even close to saturated... so availability cuts in with demand still high on both sides.

Fanboys will have to wait until later before they can say anything... not that they will... but hey one can try.

4)No one cares how you spin this towards your favorite piece of plastic, it's selling extremely well which is a good sign for the industry.

It was their very last copy for the 360, but they reportedly ordered more copies for the Xbox360, which is probably why they were already out of PS3 versions. I only know about four people in my town with PS3's, so yeah. Woolworths and Blockbuster were all sold out, too!

I actually borrowed the money to buy the game - it turns out though, that my stepdad bought two copies. One for him, and one for me to pay him back for at a later date! So he ended up giving that to my sister, and we all have copies! It's a very GTA-heavy house at the moment. ;)

Congrats to you for having the patience to deal with bneals' ignorance of the world. I find it hard when someone like him shoots their mouth off about things they know nothing about. Where I come from, we have a saying that if you don't know what you are talking about, keep your mouth shut. This would go for the other people who group Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland into England. It's just as insulting to say that Canada and Mexico are part of the US or that New Zealand is part of Australia.

On topic, I would see a 20% lead as extremely disappointing for MS since they have so many more 360's installed in that sales area.

Personally, I don't focus too much on numbers but the game is freakin' awesome on either console - I love the freedom and the amount of detail to be found in all areas of the game.

It comes as no surprise that this will outsell Halo 3 as it is in a completely different league. Halo 3 is for the tweens who don't care about old rehashed storylines while GTAIV has quality in all areas for everyone. It has been a long time since I agreed on a 10/10 rating but this one here definitely deserves it.

None of this really matters. Selling more on day 1 doesn't mean you will have sold more at the end of the game's lifespan or that it is a better game than the version on the other console.
