First off- it's his money. he earned it. he can spend it on whatever he wants, and that does not mean he has a mental illness. It's just like all you morons out there who fix up cars, or collect antiques.

secondly- whoever keeps saying things about people starving somewhere across the globe, you can just shut up. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're american. As a fellow american, i feel compelled to tell you that you shouldn't care about the people in africa, because they sure as hell don't care about you. Half of them want to kill you.

last- some of you say that game is worthless, because it is just plastic and siicone. here's a newsflash: plastic and silicone are worth just about as much as "money" or diamonds. Guess why; Money is just paper and wood pulp. Diamonds are just a rock. The only value that these things have is the value we assign to them. Obviously, he thought plastic and silicone was worth more than paper and wood pulp. I respect his choice with every fibre of my being.

It's very extensive, but some of these are the same machines from different regions or generations--there's a NES Control Set, NES Robot Set, NES Generation 2 "Dogbone" Set, and a Famicom.

I spent $89 on Shin Megami Tensei If for the PSX in the Special Edition box.

I would never. Ever. Spend $15,000 on one thing. Never. Even in my worst moments I can safely say that I wouldn't buy a complete library of games for that, let alone one that's not even particularly playable and is so limited I'd be afraid to have it out in the light.

I suppose if you're flush you're flush, and you're lucky in some sense. My golden rule? If it's over $100 or it interferes with the mortgage payment, it's out. Gotta set a guideline somewhere.

I'd never want to be so rich I can spend my money on random crap...

The Gold version was an extremely limited promo item from Nintendo Power back in the early 1990s--I think it's under 100 copies ever made.
