Beat the game early this morning, but had unimportant question.

Is there a wearable cop uniform in the game? I know one can't be bought, but if anyone noticed, at the foot of the Statue of Happiness, there is a Statue of Happiness Sweater that Niko can pick up and wear. I was wondering if there was a cop uniform you could pick up.

Can you do every single story mission in one play through? What I mean is, if I do mission X will it prevent me from doing mission Y in the future?

I ask this because I am at a place in the game where there are mission givers all over and I don't want to chose a "path" unknowingly.

I think Rockstar misses out often with this. I've seen some videos and the language turns me off. It seems more that they throw bad language in there simply to throw it in then for it actually to mean anything.

I'm 27 and have a 5 month old, and it is difficult for me to justify spending money on this game if I have to play it only late at night.

No, there is no way to join games with your own option set in mind. It's all up to the game host. You can badger him in the lobby, but 16 people talking over each other doesn't really work. You just have to sit back and hope he doesn't make the game sniper rifles only.

Are the hidden packages back? If yes, is there a numerical list of them in the game - so that you can, for example, check the list and go "oh, I need to collect Hidden Package 45!" instead of cursing and swearing and trying to figure out which 2 of 100 packages you're missing?

Also, does collecting them cause weapons to spawn outside of safehouses like in previous GTA games?

Looks like in racing mode, you can respawn at any time at the last checkpoint you passed. Even if you only made a wrong turn.

I also found this interesting quote at IGN:

Martin: Yeah, the respawn was pretty nifty. It's good that the respawn points were dictated by players, so you can choose to get straight back in the action or hold off and tool up before getting messy.

Sounds like you get to choose where you respawn to some extent.

I don't know. I am asking. If me and my friends engage in a race, and I get blown up, what happens to me? Do I sit in a lobby somewhere waiting for the race to finish? Am I kicked completely? Do I get back in the race? Death is usually the end in games like GT and Forza, but it isn't in Mario Kart. Should be at least an option to respawn with a time penalty.

What happens if I go down in free mode? Or deathmatch. Clearly, one kill and out for deathmatch would be extrememly limiting.

If we are doing deathmatch in a small area, I assume I respawn in that area. If we are city-wide, where does it put me? If I respawn at a hospital, what is to stop the guy that got me (or his teammate) from camping the hospital front door?

If I die in multiplayer, am I correct in assuming that I will respawn at the nearest hospital with my weapons intact just like I would in single player?

Or does the respawning work differently depending on the game-type. For instance, if I die during a citywide deathmatch, it doesn't so much matter where I come back in. However, if I die in the middle of a race, respawning at a hospital twenty blocks from the nearest checkpoint would pretty much lose me the race, no?

How does the loading time compare between the 360/PS3 versions? I've only played the 360 version and in the beginning of the game there are quick load times and some very long load times when loading up new sections. I was curious how the PS3 handles this.

In previous GTA's, there was a very noticable trend that if you had one type of car by you, or you were driving, that car would appear more often when you are driving around the city. Does the same sort of issue happen with cars, so that if a car is in the memory it's hard to find others?

There were also issues with pedestrians and even cars disappearing if you turned around, or moved away for a bit, does this still happen?

I have yet to embrace this new generation of HD games, only owning a Wii (wich I do consider next-gen in gameplay) and being quite happy with its anomaly free performance (RRoD, Live downtime, gimped PS3 on Euroland, etc etc).

I didn't particularly care about the smaller size of the game as a good portion of SA was useless, but the missing feature list has convinced me I only need San Andreas. If you take away toys like parachutes, you are simplifying the machine. I love San Andreas because there are endless possibilities, and when I think about GTA4 now I think about the currently unplayable simplicity of GTA3.
