@snk429: Are you kidding me?

Mafia has to be one of the most underrated PS2 games that was created, even with all of it's quirks. I mean, cars in the 50's didn't go 90-110mph, and they didn't have go-kart steering; I thought they were true to life. I can't say about the PC version as I never played it.

Also, why is everyone criticizing the 'bloom'? God forbid a game has a different filter & looks like a sunny day? The 'browns' that exist in 90% of the titles today are unrealistic, on a sunny day, I don't see browns -- I see colors.

Even by today's standards, Mafia features one of the best storylines ever written. I replayed it as recently as six months ago and it was every bit as good as I remembered.

As frustrating was the "stop the plane" mission, I hope they bring us something else ridiculously large to take down again. The satisfaction was of unloading all that saved ammo for your best weapon (usually the auto shotgun) into something worthy of it.

If what I read about the car damage physics being just as awesome as the ones in Burnout Paradise, then I'll definitely keep my eyes open. I played the first one, and I loved it, and the fact that they didn't rush out a sequel proves, at least that is what I think, that they've wanted to do something extra.

What interests me about this game (and I am not into "The Godfather" or ganster stuff) is the fact that it is a "GTA" style game, but one that takes itself aesthetically a bit more seriously, and is in an interestingly different time period. (No thanks, Saints Row. Sorry, I have zero interest in spending my time with you)

For me, that makes for entertaining software. It is fun to play in a nother "time", realistically.

The Car's look nice, but does anyone else think the shadow's stick out of the scene?

The edges are too fuzzy near the feet and too defined near the Shadow's head.

Would it be difficult to maybe put a filter so that objects near the ground have sharper edged shadows while objects further from the ground have fuzzier?

All they need to do is make sure there is no ridiculous "race" section in those physics defying coffins they call cars. That section was so annoying in the first game and I nearly quit playing after consistently hitting a pebble on the road, flipping the car and dying as I land on my head. Good times.

Looks alright.. but i can't get my hopes up.

I was super hyped for the first Mafia game and bought it on the day it was released.. At first I was in denial, thinking that I liked that game, just because I couldn't admit i wasted that money. I now fully realized that the game Mafia is absolutely terrible.

Yeah, the racing mission was a pain in the ass. There was a patch for the PC version which made it a little easier.

I can't wait for this game. I looooooved Mafia. Great characters and a great story.

The shadows are much too dark (games do this a lot for some reason), but that's pretty gorgeous.

I still maintain that the gameplay of the original was awful, but like Luke said - games like this have come a long way. I'm sure the devs paid attention.

Ugh, I remember a racing mission in the first game that forced me and a friend into a frenzied hatred for the game. We eventually beat it by downloading a save file that JUST finished the mission. lol.

I miss the days when I sucked at videogames. Oh no wait, I dont.
